The house is just weeks away from being finished. All the lights and ceiling fans were installed on Sunday and my brother and dad have just about finished all the interior painting minus touching up a few things and repainting the hall bathroom. The bathroom lights are way too dark for the papaya color, so mama and daddy have decided to paint it a lighter/more neutral color. I love all the light fixtures....mainly because I picked out most of them. :) Keep in mind that a few of the fixtures are still in need of bulbs in the photos. The oven has also been installed and the rest of the appliances will be installed soon along with the floors and the countertops. My dad also installed the front door knob this afternoon. The end is definitely in sight.

The kitchen, living room, and both bathrooms now have all the built-ins installed. My brother has started staining the cabinet doors and will soon start painting the walls. The outside trim is now complete, aside from the front posts. My mom has been busy ordering all her light fixtures, which should be installed soon. Ceramic tile has been selected for both bathrooms and now it's on to the countertops and floors. So many decisions to be made!

Updates Coming Soon

Don't worry....I haven't forgotten about updating this site. October has been a busy month and I haven't been out to my parent's house as often since my mom is not keeping Addison for the time being. However, the new house now has cabinets and my brother is working to stain them. The outside trim has been painted and it's now time for many decisions to be made---countertops, floors, paint colors, hardware, bath mirrors, exterior lights, etc. Pictures coming soon...I promise!

Trim, Paint Colors, and Cabinets

Taking advantage of cooler temps to paint the trim

Sample colors that Chase painted on the wall and mama doesn't like but one. Ha!

Cabinet materials in the kitchen

More materials for cabinets

Chase showing sample of "Dovetail" paint used for exterior trim.

Daddy and Chase have started painting the trim of the house a color called "Dovetail," which looks really great with the brick mortar. Chase has been working hard on all the interior and exterior priming and is ready to get some color on the inside walls once mama makes up her mind. The materials for the cabinets have been delivered and Daddy hopes to have the cabinets in this week. Stay tuned!

I "Column" As I See 'Em

Rebel Yell now has larger columns/posts on the front now and with the posts comes the decision whether to stain them to match the front door (which is my vote) or stain them a color to match the trim. Let us know what you think!
