Gearing Up for a Family Gathering

Mammaw and Pappaw Conerly will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, so we're having a family celebration for them at Rebel Yell on Saturday. It will be a day filled with food, fun and fellowship. Part of planning a family event is preparing your home, so my mom and dad have been putting the finishing touches on Rebel Yell over the past couple of months. Back in July, they had to completely redo all of their hardwood floors because of some warping problems. It was a mess, but the new Bella wood is down and so far, so good. Daddy has also poured a couple of sidewalks and planted some dwarf azalea bushes in the front. He has cleaned out the daylily beds and is working on the landscaping around the sides of the house as well. And no front porch in the country would be complete without rocking chairs for both grandparents and small ones for the grandkids!
