The house passed inspection and moving officially began on Tuesday evening. We celebrated with a spaghetti supper in the new house even though there were only a few pots and pans and couple of boxes of dishes unpacked. There's still some touch-up paint work that has to be done, blinds that have to be installed, lots of construction clean-up, and even more moving and unpacking, but the end is definitely in sight and just in time for 2009! Happy New Year from Rebel Yell!

Home Stretch

Ceramic tile around master bath tub. All it needs now is grout, sealer, faucets and a good cleaning!

The house is just days away from being finished. Mama and Daddy closed on the house on Friday and are just waiting for installation of a few things and finishing touches so that they can clean up for the final inspection. The tile is complete in both bathrooms and the laundry room minus the grout and the sealer, which should be added soon. All the appliances are in except for the fridge. Carpet has been installed in all the bedrooms and the hardwood is in the hallway, living room, and most of the kitchen. The installers ran out of wood and are scheduled to return on Monday to finish up. Other than that, they are just waiting on a few final things like shelves in the closets, beveled mirror in the master bath, etc. Mama bought a beautiful mirror for her hall bath and I can't wait to see it up. Addison had a great time being a ham in front of it. She is super excited abot her "yellow" room at Rebel Yell and wanted to check out the closet and lay down on the new carpet. It's very exciting to see things coming together.

Closing Day!

I don't have any pics to share at the moment, but mama and daddy are closing on the house later this afternoon. The tile is just about complete, the granite countertops are in, the carpet was installed in the bedrooms yesterday and the hardwood is being installed today. As soon as I can walk on the floors, I'll be sure to post some new pics. The final inspection could possibly be Christmas Eve--talk about a great Christmas present! After that, it will be time to start moving. I'll keep you posted.

The house is just weeks away from being finished. All the lights and ceiling fans were installed on Sunday and my brother and dad have just about finished all the interior painting minus touching up a few things and repainting the hall bathroom. The bathroom lights are way too dark for the papaya color, so mama and daddy have decided to paint it a lighter/more neutral color. I love all the light fixtures....mainly because I picked out most of them. :) Keep in mind that a few of the fixtures are still in need of bulbs in the photos. The oven has also been installed and the rest of the appliances will be installed soon along with the floors and the countertops. My dad also installed the front door knob this afternoon. The end is definitely in sight.

With the closing date just around the corner, paint is going on the walls, cabinet doors are being hung, doors are being sprayed, and the lights, counters and floors are all scheduled to be installed soon.
